Thanks for your interest in supporting our homeless and low-income neighbors in 2022! Holidays are an exciting time for many, including guests in shelter and residents in supportive housing. New Hope Housing is lucky to have so many community members that are committed to sharing holiday cheer during this time of year.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are prioritizing two ways to give this year. We are looking for volunteers to sign up to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, and we are hosting a Gift Card Drive.
Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets
Food baskets help ensure that our residents have a special and filling meal for the holidays. Food baskets include items needed for the meal and include a $25 grocery gift card to purchase a protein of their choice. CLICK HERE for a full list of items & downloadable flyer. Our goal is to collect 125 baskets for each holiday.
Food baskets can be dropped off at our Admin office (8407-E Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22309). Thanksgiving food baskets are needed no later than November 18th, 2022, and Christmas food baskets no later than December 16th, 2022.
Gift Card Drive
In lieu of adopting our guests and residents this year for the holidays, we are hosting a gift card drive so that we can provide each guest with a gift card for the holidays. Gift cards allow guests to pick out something they want or need for the holidays.
The gift card drive will run until Martin Luther King Jr Day (January 16th, 2023). Gift cards can be mailed to NHH Gift Cards, ATTN: Jan-Michael Sacharko, 8407-E Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22309.
$25 gift cards to Walmart, Target, and grocery stores are the best for our guests. Our goal is 600 gift cards to support our homeless neighbors!
