Giving Tuesday – November 29th!

Giving Tuesday is a worldwide day of giving. First there’s a day of thanks, then several days of sales, but for four years the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a day to give back in your community.

We’ve got a donor ready to match up to the first $5,000 raised on Razoo – can you help us get the full match for our children’s programs?

Brownie Troop 5206Homelessness and housing instability has adverse effects on everyone, but especially children. These can include poor physical and mental health due to hunger, sleeplessness and anxiety; and missed educational opportunities due to frequent moving or inability to afford costs of programs. Because schooling can be so frequently disrupted, many homeless children are twice as likely to repeat a grade, have a learning disability, or be suspended. Additional tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programs are vital to help children catch up to their peers or maintain grades and confidence in schooling. New Hope Housing helps formerly homeless families maintain stable housing, but we also do much more through our Family Activities Specialist and a host of volunteers.
