Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage

Coverage is effective the first day of the month following 30 days of employment. New Hope Housing will pay the full individual premium for HMO medical/prescription/vision coverage and traditional dental coverage for full-time employees. Part-time employees’ premiums will be pro-rated. Employees who wish to include family dependents will pay the additional premiums but on a tax-free basis.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow individuals to use pre-tax money to pay certain health care and dependent day care expenses. Employees can make before-tax contributions to two different accounts: the Health Care FSA and the Dependent Day Care FSA.

Voluntary Benefits Options

Optional Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Accidental Death/Dismemberment (AD&D) benefits are available to full time employees on a voluntary basis. Premiums are employee paid.

Retirement Program

Planning for the future is important. That is why New Hope Housing offers a 403(b) retirement program managed by Mutual of America. If an employee chooses to enroll, it is easy to save through automatic payroll deductions, and contributions are deducted before taxes are withheld. Upon completion of one year of employment, New Hope Housing will contribute the equivalent of 3% of a staff member’s salary to the plan. In addition, an employee’s contribution will be matched by New Hope Housing up to 25% of the first 1% of the employee’s salary.

Career and Professional Development

New Hope Housing is a learning organization. That is why we invest in staff learning and development, and encourage staff to move in directions that best suit the individual staff member as well as our agency mission.

To help staff to succeed from day one, we offer a comprehensive orientation program. Through the orientation, the employee is assisted in understanding our programs and the population we serve, to know what is expected of the employee, and to pursue the employee’s own professional goals. The employee has control of his or her own development in a job that offers real variety and challenge.

We offer a range of formal training programs and encourage continuous professional development for everyone. We also will support staff in pursuing higher education by offering a generous tuition reimbursement policy if coursework leads to a degree relevant to our mission and an individual’s position responsibilities.

Recognition of Outstanding Performance

As part of the effort to recognize and reward outstanding work performance, two employee award programs are available, the Employee of the Quarter and the Employee of the Year awards. Each award includes a plaque and a cash bonus. In addition, staff may recognize a special effort undertaken by any colleague by giving a “kudo” in the staff bi-weekly newsletter, Newsbriefs. Those awarded kudos are entered into a special drawing conducted at each quarterly staff meeting.
